ROManager for Basic v1.08

TFM released the first version of his ROM manager for BASIC. With this tool you can load, manage and save single ROMs. Further you can save and restore a backup of all 32 ROMs of the SYMBiFACE II. You can park, unpark, clear, test, shift, swap and copy ROMs. The test fuction also allows to check and to adapt the checksum. It has a language interface for Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish. You can run it with every CPC464/664/6128 which is attached to a SYMBiFACE II.

New version of Filmemacher for FutureOS

TFM released a new version of his video compression tool Filmemacher (german for ‘Moviemaker’). With Filmemacher you can compress 17kb screen and display them with up to 50fps. You can download the actual version of the program from http://www.futureos.de.

Changes:

Application now updated and adapted for FutureOS system .8 or higher
Memory-Management is enhanced, up to 512 KB E-RAM will be fully used
Debugging (has still to be enhanced in the next version)
Interface for German, English and French language
Application needs a CPC with at least 208 KB RAM.
The generated CoData movie can now compress 1364 single pictures (511 in last version)
Application runs best on Class 4 CPC or higher.

New version of 2cdt

Kevin Thacker released a new version of his 2cdt utility. With 2cdt, which is a command-line utility, it is possible to transfer files directly into a cdt tape image file.

Changes:

Baud rate calculation fixed
Set/override load address
Set/override execution address
Set/override type
Define pause at start of file (length now can be defined)
Add extra block for bad arnold emulator which skips first block (old version)
Spectrum ROM loader (I use this for my tape games)
Set name of file on tape

The ZIP file contains the Windows version and the source code to compile it under Linux. You can download it here.

SYMBiFACE II ROManager and Flash ROManager Update

Arkos Tracker v1.0

Ok, here it is: The final version of the Arkos Tracker.

With the Arkos Tracker you can compose your chiptune music for the Amstrad CPC (and a variety of other computers), compile them and use the player for the specific system. The sound playback is done via emulation of the AY-3-891x soundchip on your PC or directly on an Amstrad CPC via the CPC Booster+.

You can download the new Beta version from the tools section of the Arkos homepage.

Changes:

The “Load Song” dialog can now load both AKS and SKS files at the same time.
You use use the command line to load a song.
Drag’n'drop possible to the Arkos Tracker executable file to load a song.
Bug corrected: Could not close the application with the top-right cross when the player was active.

Caprice 2.7 for PalmOS

Frederic Coste released a new version of his Amstrad CPC emulator for Palm OS. It requires an ARM processor, a colour display (320×320) and at least PalmOS 5.2. You can download the emulator and the sourcecode from the Caprice for PalmOS homepage.

Castle Party 2010 – Party pictures

Ok, I am a bit late, but I have uploaded the party pictures for the Castle Party 2010, which was held in the Castle Sommerhausen by Marabu. You can find the pictures in the meeting gallery in the menu above.
Thanks to all participants, it was a nice party. Below you see the picture of Castle Sommershausen and the infamous CPC door, which all the CPC sceners, who attended to a CPC party there, signed.

Digiblaster v3

Bryce just finished his version of the Digiblaster – if you don’t know it – it is a device which is connected to the printer port and can play 8-bit samples which can be directly send to the printer port. He improved the v2 design be a R2R-resistor ladder (you needn’t to buy non-standard resistor values anymore), is now brought to stereo line-out level (you should use your active speakers now) and you can connect the output of the CPC to it (it will mix the signal of the soundchip to the sample output). He also designed two versions of the Digiblaster v3: one for CPCs with edge connectors and one for CPCs with centronics connectors.
Like with the PS2Mouse adapter, Bryce published the schematics and board layout in the CPC Wiki.

Orion Prime (english, french, spanish) available for download

Arkos Tracker v1.0 Beta 4

Arkos released a new Beta version of their cross-plattform tracker “Arkos Tracker”. With the Arkos Tracker you can compose your chiptune music for the Amstrad CPC (and a variety of other computers), compile them and use the player for the specific system. The sound playback is done via emulation of the AY-3-891x soundchip on your PC or directly on an Amstrad CPC via the CPC Booster+.

Changes:

Ability to drag’n'drop AKS, AKI, SKS files into the Arkos Tracker.
Ability to limit the Pattern Viewer refresh rate in order to improve performance.
Load Song and Import SKS options are now mixed into one single option.
Corrected a bug that could make the Pattern Viewer not refreshed after having entered a volume, pitch or instrument.
Corrected a bug that would make the player use a wrong frequency when changing the replay frequency.
Corrected a bug that would make sounds not evolve on Speed 1 while adding them in the Pattern Viewer.
Slight improvement of the replay routine (shouldn’t be noticeable in 16 bits, but should in 8), after Dadman noticed a bug in the 8 bits replay.
A few cycles optimisations of the player (thanks to Grim/Arkos).
Spectrum player redesigned, corrected, and optimised by Grim/Arkos (using the “Molusk” song, max TM is 5300t, average is 2400t).
MSX player test debugged by Syx. MSX DSK updated by Syx.
Source of the CPCBooster client and management now included (Sources/CPCBooster).
