The CPC-Forum.de, a german CPC forum, will close it’s doors today, but nevertheless, it will come back as a subforum of the “Verein zum Erhalt klassischer Computer e.V.”, which is a retro computing addicted organisation. Currently the administrators of CPC-Forum.de are trying to move the old forum messages to the new server, too. The intention of this movement is to get rid of the dependency on one person, who has the power to e.g. close the whole the forum from one day to another.

The CPC Wiki needs to move from the server, which was kindly donated by Nurgle, to a new server again. It is aimed to move the Wiki to its new location on wednesday or friday, so don’t be afraid if it isn’t available during that time. You can read more about it in the CPC Wiki forums (if they are available Zwinkerndes Smiley) and I will try to keep you informed about the migration progress. You can find more detailed information during the migration progress when you follow Gryzors Twitter account (@krakout).

[UPDATE-19.11.2011] The Wiki moved to its new server this night and all seems to be working. If there are any problems, please report them in the forums or contact Gryzor.[/UPDATE]

You might have noticed that the CPC Wiki is currently not accessable. The server will move to a new hosting partner, but here is the original message by Gryzor:

“Hello dear CPCWiki members,As some of you have noticed, there has been some downtime as of lately. The host has said we cannot continue on this server due to the number of connections made, so we’ll probably be moving to a new one. It seems summer is always a period of moving! Anyhow, if you find that the site is gone we will try to keep you updated. You can check out cpc-live.com, follow Gryzor on Twitter (username: krakout), or drop by https://www.octoate.de and other CPC-related sites (like Phenix, I’m sure they’ll pick it up sooner or later).

Cross fingers!

Regards,
The CPCWiki forum Team.”

Some regular users might have already found it – during easter I added a new egg… aehm… section to this site called “Articles”, which you can find in the top menu. I will add CPC related articles to this section, which I already had in an old design until I changed the CMS system. This means, that you will find some articles, which I wrote in 2006. The main reason was, that I still get requests from other sites to this articles – mainly the german article about how to change the drive belt of a floppy drive. I hope that I have the time to extend them in the future.

Another new thing, which was requested by some people about a year ago, is that you can now Flattr this site. Flattr is a microdontation system. You can find the Flattr button at the end of each posting. Well, it’s more an experiment, but I am interested to see if and how this evolves… Maybe it is possible to pay a round on the next CPC meeting ;-).  But the good thing is, I can now use it to flattr other blogs, too :-).

Some weeks ago, Norecess asked for informations about the state of the german CPC scene and I tried to gave him a brief overview about who is active and still using his CPC here in germany. He also asked Arnoldemu (Kevin Thacker) about the UK scene and Optimus about the greek scene and wrote about the canadian and french CPC scene, too. Well, you can now have a look at the result on his website :-).
P.S.: If I missed to mention you or just gave the wrong information –> hit the contact button and blame me for that ;-)!
