After more than a year there is a new version of CPCEmu, one of the oldest CPC emulators, available. In the new version v1.7 the keyboard support was improved. Currently only the Windows version is available for download, but the Linux version will follow soon.

You can download the new version from the CPCEmu homepage or directly here (attached to this article or in the download section).

An extended Amstrad Plus version of the game Rick Dangerous is currently under development by Fano, BDCiron and MacDeath. It will be released this year and is currently in the final testing stage.

This are the features of the new Plus version:

  • the famous digitalised ‘Whhhaaa’ sample at 15Khz
  • Full levels from 16bits versions (special THX to bigorno)
  • Cutscenes with graphics from Amiga version
  • Musics from Atari ST version
  • New graphics
  • And some surprises…

[UPDATE:] The game will be released on Xmas.

    Devilmarkus released a new version of his Java Amstrad CPC emulator called JavaCPC. You can download it from CPC-Live.com in the download section.

    Changes for version 6.7:

    • Improved CRTC 0 and CRTC 1 emulation, fully emulates Registers 6 and 8
    • New feature: JavaCPC Paint allows to paint normal sized screens, convert JPG, BMP, PNG and GIF on-the-fy into CPC format
    • Realtime clock (Just for fun, not a real emulated feature, demodisk is included)
    • Performance observer to avoid low performance / bad synchro
    • You can dump cpc-ram directly into HEX-Editor now (Read-only, but saveable to PC)
    • LZH uncompression possible for YM files
    • improvements for the YM player
    • Several minor bugfixes
    • Bugfix in Autotype to avoid shift-key ignores
    • Changed colour tables for Colour monitor (Linear / Non-linear)

    MiguelSky updated the CPCGamesCD, which CPC emulators and games combined with a nice frontend where you can select and start the games. You can download the ISO image from the CPCGamesCD homepage.

    Changes:

    • Includes frontend, new CPC Loader 2.5 by Troels K
    • Includes NVG games update 18.10.2009
    • Includes Snap-Pack by MiguelSky (3589 images)
    • Added new version 6.7 Beta of JavaCPC emulator
    • Includes Linux version of CPCLoader 2.5 and emus update
    • Continues supporting Maps folder of NVG and including links to T.A.C.G.R.

    Orion Prime french available as DSK

    The adventure game Orion Prime is now available as DSK images. However currently it is just the french language version, but an english, german and spanish version is under development. You can download the DSK image from the Orion Prime homepage.
