Artaburu released a first beta version of his utility library for the SDCC C compiler. E.g. Mariano the dragon or the recently released Nanako Descend To Hell was written with this library (using the Z88dk compiler as backend) and so it contains a lot of graphics functions, keyboard functions, map functions, etc. You can download it from the Google Code page of the CPCRSlib.

Here are the changes since my last posting:

10/24/2012

cpcrslib for SDCC (beta) released.

05/21/2012

cpcwyzlib for SDCC released.

On the XzentriX 2012, MaV worked on a small program which calculates the Mandelbrot set. He tried to optimise it as much as he can and now released it. In the DSK file you will find four small (3K) programs:

  • MAVNORMC – normal resolution / colour monitor
  • MAVNORMG – normal resolution / green monitor
  • MAVOVSCC – overscan / colour monitor
  • MAVOVSCG – overscan / green monitor

The Amstrad CPC will need about 30 seconds to render the image. You can download the DSK file at the end of this news or from the download section of this page (within the demo folder).

Another year is over and so the XzentriX 2012. It was a nice meeting – as always – but only MaV, Mr.AMS and I brought an Amstrad CPC with us, so the CPC was a little bit underrepresented this year. Anyway, a lot of german CPC users were there, e.g. Nurgle, Odiesoft, Brainblaster, Kangaroo, MaV, Nilquader, Mr.AMS and Octoate (myself). Thanks to the great Batman Forever demo, the interest in the CPC was higher this year and maybe we see a Amstrad CPC workshop on the next Vintage Computer Festival Europe (VCFe) in Munich next year.

Kangaroo showed his Pacman clone board game “Whacky Wit“, which is currently in a crowdfunding phase on StartNext (a german crowdfunding platform). The game is great and it makes a lot of fun, so if you want to help him, go over to StartNext and be a fan or buy a part :-).

What? A demo from the UK? Must be a joke…? No it isn’t! Doz / Crtc and 3ln, with help from Mr.Lou for the music, released a new intro for the CPC on the Sundown 2012 party. You will see a nice triangle renderer, a sunset and a realtime twister. You can download it from Pouet.net (don’t forget to vote).

What’s next? A demo from germany Zwinkerndes Smiley?
