AmeDS v3.0

AmeDS, a CPC emulator for the Nintendo DS which is based on Caprice, was released in a new version. Here are the changes:

  • Bugfixed redefinition of keys
  • Smoother screen rendering
  • Changed EI_delay (Tetris is now working)
  • Small speed increases
  • Stand-by support (if you close the covering AmeDS stops the execution)
  • better keyboard simulation

As I don’t speak any word french, I hope I translated the changes correctly :). You can download the latest version on the official homepage of AmeDS.

PSPCAP32

Zx81 released a new version of his Caprice32 based CPC emulator for the PSP (Playstation Portable). As always you can download the newest version from his weblog .

Here are the changes of the new version:

  • Cheat support
  • Text editor to modify the global cheat.txt file
  • Memory monitoring engine to find your own cheat code
  • Text editor to write your own comments on games
  • Display first comment line while browsing game files
  • Finally fix issue with “Home -> Exit”
  • Add option to disable auto fire in settings menu
  • Improve global emulation speed
  • Improve file requester with virtual keyboard to choose equentially rom files beginning with a given letter
  • Zip rom files are now decompressed in memory (much faster!)
  • Tested on FW-5.0-m33

The Playputer SDK , a C/C++ framework which aims on virtual machine creation for playing games, got an update to version 0.4. It contains emulation for the Gameboy, the Gameboy Advance and – of course the most important for us – the Amstrad CPC. The CPC emulation is based on Caprice. You can download the newest version from the Sourceforge project page .

Zx81 just released a new version of his Caprice32 based CPC emulator for the PSP (Playstation Portable). As always you can download the newest version from his weblog.

Here are the changes of the new version:

  • improve speed (+3 fps at 222Mhz)
  • add new hotkeys:
    – settings such as fps, delta_y or render mode can now be directly modified inside the emulator (no need to enter in the settings menu)
    – quick save / quick load current state (no need to enter in the main menu)
  • bug fix in green/monochrome default settings
