New version of 2cdt

Kevin Thacker released a new version of his 2cdt utility. With 2cdt, which is a command-line utility, it is possible to transfer files directly into a cdt tape image file.

Changes:

  • Baud rate calculation fixed
  • Set/override load address
  • Set/override execution address
  • Set/override type
  • Define pause at start of file (length now can be defined)
  • Add extra block for bad arnold emulator which skips first block  (old version)
  • Spectrum ROM loader (I use this for my tape games)
  • Set name of file on tape

The ZIP file contains the Windows version and the source code to compile it under Linux. You can download it here.

Stranded full version available for download

Kevin Thacker made the full version of his game “Stranded” available for download. Stranded is a puzzle game where you have to move your character from a starting square over each square to an end square. Sounds simple, but you will get 32 challenging levels.

You can download it from Kevin Thackers game website or directly at the end of this news entry. If you want to buy the game on a real cassette, you can do that on the Cronosoft page.

Arnold for Linux

Nurgle released a new version of the Arnold / Linux CPC emulator. Arnold / Linux is a Linux port of Kevin Thackers Arnold emulator. You can download the sourcode and x86 / x86_64 binaries from the Arnold for Linux homepage .

Changelog:

  • updated emulation core by Kevin Thacker with better emulation accuracy
  • patches for the x86_64 release (now a x86_64 binary is available for download)
  • command line options to start in doublesize and fullscreen mode
  • pulse audio plugin for modern distros

Kevin Thacker just finished the Sudoku puzzle game he worked on. You can download a demo version from his game page . The full version will be available from Cronosoft .

The guys at Cronosoft have just released two new games. The games are Balloonacy by Kevin Thacker and Star Sabre by P. Kooistra. You can buy them directly from Cronosoft for 2.99 GBP (1 GBP goes to the author). The screenshot below is from the gameStar Sabre.
