Aren’t we missing a demoparty this year? Yes, the biggest Amstrad CPC demoparty: The ReSeT! The ReSeT #18 party in Coutances / France will take place from 14th-16th November 2014. Like every year, the party is organised by Eliot / Benediction. It is open to all computer enthusiast and for everyone who is intersted in coding, electronics, graphics, music, etc.. Be sure to participate if you can and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Amstrad CPC. You can register here.

Competitions:

  • Demo: No size limit. The entry must be runnable on CPC 6128 or 6128 Plus, without any extension.
  • Intro (256b, 1k, 4k): Maximum size is 256, 1024 or 4096 bytes. The entry must be runnable on CPC 6128 or 6128 Plus, without any extension.
  • Graphics: All formats / modes are allowed. The entry must be submitted with its viewer program runnable on CPC or Plus.
  • Music: No size limit. The entry must be submitted with its player.
  • Remote entries: Allowed for every competitions. Mail us your entry before Saturday 15th of November.

The demo group Slipstream, mostly known for their Amiga demos, released a new demo for the Amstrad CPC on the Sundown demoscene meeting in Budleigh Salterton / UK. Code and animations were done by Devilmarkus, graphics by TCM and music by BEX. You can download the demo at the end of this news and from Pouet.net (as always: don’t forget to vote).

Doz released a new demo for the Amstrad CPC on the Revision demo party in Saarbrücken and hey… you can use your Amstrad CPC 464 to watch it, because it features a fast track loading program. The reactions of the crowd were quite positive, so let’s keep your fingers crossed for a good ranking of doz’ entry in the competition (the results of the compos will follow in a later news posting). You can get the demo from Pouet (don’t forget to vote) or from the download section of this page.

Norecess released the source code of his demo Phortem and his development environment for the Amstrad CPC called Phactory. Both projects are not maintained anymore, so if someone is interested to take over… :-). You will also find Ceds graphics and Arnoldemus track loader in Phortem.

I guess, we saw some great productions during 2013 and I am sure that the results reflect the common reception.
