Finally it is here: the long awaited Pinball Dreams pinball simulator by the Batman Group, well known for their Batman Forever demo, that proves that the Amstrad CPC is indeed an awesome and underestimated machine. It was years in the making and finally shows an awesome homage to the Amiga version of the game. Of course, it features all the pinball tables of the original version, but have a look by yourself:
The Batman Group, well known for their great demo Batman Forever, showed one of their latest game projects in a small teaser on Youtube. As you can see, it is an arcade racer similar to Outrun, but features absolutly awesome graphics on the Amstrad CPC. I cannot wait to see this one released…
We waited a long time for it and nearly all of the CPC users can’t wait to play it on their CPC – I am very sure about it. Well, we talk about… hmm… it might be a game that already have a demo version out, but wait for 10/01/2019 and you will see more about it. I am sure you will find more about the release on their homepage – when it is time for it (at the moment it is under construction). So enjoy the Batman Groups release announcment until then:
4Sceners and Bitfellas published their favourite demoscene productions for the year 2016 and it is great to see three Amstrad CPC productions in their list, too. Ranked on 3rd place in the category “Best Music Disc” you will find the CPC vs. Virgill music disc by Tristar and Red Sector (TRSI). The other two productions can be found in the “Best Scene Game”. The awesome Pinball Dreams preview by the Batman Group ranked on the 2nd place (hey, this is just preview – what can we expect from the final product :-)) and ranked on the 7th place you will find the game Outlaws by RetroBytes which won the CPCRetroDev 2016 competition. You can have a look the complete results on the 4Sceners website (german).
It is always great to see Amstrad CPC productions mentioned in demoscene :-).
The Batman Group, well known for their great Batman Forever demo for the Amstrad CPC, is currently working on a port of the Digital Illusions (today DICE, known for the Battlefield series) game Pinball Dreams. Pinball Dreams is a pinball simulator, which was released for the Commodore Amiga, Commodore C64, Nintendo Game Boy, DOS and much more systems – excluding the Amstrad CPC. Some days ago, they released a playable preview version of the game and while it is not complete yet and you can only play one table but it shows its potential with awesome scrolling, perfect usage of the Amstrad CPCs colour palette and great graphics. Be sure to download the preview and play it on a real Amstrad CPC with monitor, if possible!!! The game needs 128kb RAM, so be sure to run it with a RAM expansion on a 464 or 664.
You can download the preview from Pouet (don’t forget to vote) and at the end of this news.
Pinball Dreams is a pinball simulator, initially developed by Digital Illusions CE (DICE - today known for the Battlefield series), which currently is ported to the Amstrad CPC by the Batman Group. This is a preview of the game.
