SyX and TotO are hard working to get a new mass storage device ready for your Amstrad CPC. It is compatible with SymbOS and BonnyDOS and it will additionally come with an own ROM (ACMEDOS), which allows you to access the mass storage from BASIC via RSX commands. If you already own the Mother X4 board, you can just plug it into it and use it on your CPC. You can preorder it for 24,90 EUR in TotO’s webshop.
After years of inactivity I decided to release two old project, which I started to work on in 2010, publicly on my GitHub account. I have not produced any prototypes yet, so they are currently more a draft. Both projects use a flash EPROM to store the data in the cartridge. The first one is a simple Amstrad Plus / Amstrad GX4000 cartridge, which can be equipped with an original ACID protection chip or with a Xilinx XC9536 CPLD for ACID emulation (you can read more about the emulation here).
The second project is the design of a flash cartridge, which can be programmed on a PC via USB and used in a Amstrad Plus / Amstrad GX4000. You can read more about the design in the README.md.
Maybe someone with more time is interested to take over the projects, otherwise I will work on them every now and then…
SPRING released a new version of their ROM manager ROMAN. You can directly download the latest version as a DSK and HFE from here:

Kangaroo and Nilquader released a new hardware for the Amstrad CPC, which is available for ordering now: the MegaFlash NG ROM box. It is based on the MegaFlash ROM box by Bryce and additionally features a reset button and a “pause” switch. But the best above all – it is available as a construction kit, which means, it will bring the “maker spirit” to you :). Order your kit, heat your soldering iron, have fun with building this new hardware for the Amstrad CPC and after all of that – enjoy your new hardware, e.g. with the games of the 16k ROM competition on the real machine :D. You can order the MegaFlash NG from the Spielquader shop for 24,95 EUR (look out for the “Ready” T-Shirts as well :-)).
After the CPC Minibooster TotO brings us again a new hardware expansion card – this time it is called X-MEM and it contains up to 512kb RAM and up to 512kb flash ROM. You can also replace the lower ROMs with the flash ROM interface on the card and of course, you can use it in the “MotherX4” mainboard with the other hardware expansions. But the best above all: it is already available for pre-ordering at Cent Pour Cent. Be sure to order one now :-)!
