RolandYou like the music of your Amstrad CPC? You want to listen to it at work or everywhere where internet is available without loading the game, demo, etc. on your real CPC? You want to discover “new” artists and listen to music specials dedicated to a special artist? You just like to hear chiptunes and want to listen to them 24 hours a day? If you can answer any of this questions with “Yes!”, then don’t hesitate and listen to Roland Radio, a new streaming radio station by Kangaroo Musique dedicated to the Amstrad CPC.

Kangaroo and Nilquader released a new hardware for the Amstrad CPC, which is available for ordering now: the MegaFlash NG ROM box. It is based on the MegaFlash ROM box by Bryce and additionally features a reset button and a “pause” switch. But the best above all – it is available as a construction kit, which means, it will bring the “maker spirit” to you :). Order your kit, heat your soldering iron, have fun with building this new hardware for the Amstrad CPC and after all of that – enjoy your new hardware, e.g. with the games of the 16k ROM competition on the real machine :D. You can order the MegaFlash NG from the Spielquader shop for 24,95 EUR (look out for the “Ready” T-Shirts as well :-)).

I already wrote it some time ago: the german CPC-Forum.de will be down soon. In a message on CPC-Forum.de Kangaroo wrote a message, that there was nobody who wants to take over the administrator function of the board and also nobody wants to pay for it.

As a replacement Devilmarkus and Gryzor created a german section in the CPC Wiki forum. Here is the message about the creation of this section:

======ENGLISH MESSAGE FOLLOWS BELOW

Hallo, Deutscher CPC-Szener!

Lieben Gruss,
Euer CPC-Wiki Team

=============

Dear CPC-Wiki users,

As you may have noticed, Kangaroo shut down the last German language CPC-related forum, cpc-forum.de. And not only that, but he also says that the data is lost…

If you’re still interested in a German-speaking forum, seeing as it was quite active, we created such a forum on http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum

We hope for your active participation and really we would be very glad if the German CPC-scene found a new home here, at least until and if another solution is found.

Regards,
The CPCWiki forum Team.

I already posted it in a previous article, that there won’t be any sponsoring for the CPC Wiki anymore, so Gryzor put the CPC Wiki “on vacation” during his own vacation. After he is back, he tries to find a solution. Until then, at least the CPC Wiki forums are online on a new webspace which was kindly donated by Devilmarkus. You can still login with your CPC Wiki account data.

The new location for the forum is http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum. See you there…

UPDATE: Devilmarkus wrote in the new forums that the Wiki is back online, too. You can access it under http://www.cpcwiki.eu. I will update this news article if I hear anything new about the current situation.

UPDATE2: Please wait with editing in the CPC Wiki until Gryzor is back and decides what to do next. The current version is currently just a backup.

In a posting in the german CPC forum, Kangaroo wrote that he will stop sponsoring the CPC sites which are hosted in his company. After the failure of the FTP server which hosted a huge amount of CPC stuff, the minor resonance of the CPC Klassentreffen here in germany, the high administrative support for the CPC Wiki and the gerneral quiteness of the german CPC scene, he formed his decision to shut down the sponsoring by the end of July. The affected sites will be the german FTP server, the german CPC forum and the CPC Wiki.
This won’t mean that the sites will necessarily shut down, but now the hosting must be paid. I will keep you updated about this topic.

Update (2009/08/08): Gryzors statement from the Wiki forum:

Hello guys,

Many of you must have heard about the situation with the Wiki and hosting and all (despite it being August). I just wanted to let you know that NOTHING will happen to the wiki Maybe some changes, but nothing radical, and we’ll soon continue running. Keep it up

Cheers
Gryzor
