A new version of the HxC floppy emulator software for Windows was released in version 2.1.6.0. Besides some non Amstrad CPC releated features, it contains the possibility to add DSK files to the batch converter export list now.
The HxC floppy emulator is a device, which emulates a floppy disk systems by using disk images, which are contained on a SD card. It is the defacto standard for Amstrad CPC users to replace the internal or add a new 3″ drive. Thanks to Norecess’ great HxC floppy configuration software, it is nicely integrated into the system of the Amstrad CPC and very easy to use.

You can download the latest version from the HxC floppy emulator homepage.

Your Amstrad CPC is showing a “Disc missing” error when you try to load a disc? Then normally it is time to change the drive belt of your disk drive. There are already some nice tutorials on how to change the drive belt of an Amstrad CPC, but Xyphoe recorded a video where he changes the drive belt of an Amstrad CPC 6128. So if you need to change your drive belt have a look at it.

A new firmware for the HxC SD card floppy emulator was released. It features some bugfixes regarding SD card handling.
The HxC floppy emulator is directly connected to the floppy bus and emulates a complete disk drive. The disks, which are emulated by the floppy emulator, are stored on the SD card and can be selected by hardware buttons on the emulator or directly with a small program, which you can run on your Amstrad CPC.
You can download the newest version from the HxC floppy emulator homepage. If you want to order one, you can get one from Lotharek.
